I have 3 hummingbirds that come to my feeder most of the day, sometimes there are 4. I am always mesmerized by them. I think often how did they know to come here? Every year they find their source and it wow’s me. There are thousands of things around them yet they find their source of food. Like all feeders there are tiny holes and the feeder is almost suspended by air. I have two bird feeders close by but they just know this one is for them.
It’s like God. He is our source when you find Him you know. Out of thousands of things around us He is the only one that truly fills us.
I love how David Arms explains Hummingbirds:
“Hummingbird’s are an image of perpetual motion. When you do see one still, it is a bit of a shock Like us, being still can seem unnatural. Here one sits, still, suspended by God.
It's in that stillness that God grows our souls and quiets our hearts”.
I’ve seen them still at times lately and truly watch in awe.
If you are like me I’ve had to learn to be still at times. I’m on the go here and there and I’m always thinking of what I should be doing but yet there’s a balance. God is our source, there are many things around us but He has a way of making sure you know He is THE source.
